today is my 4th day in Kolkata.
I can tell you that I feel very well, no acclimatization, no stomach pain and so on))) haha everything is just great)))
I have to tell so many things about it, cause so many new impressions all the time and it is great pity that I don't have Internet all time in order to share you)))
First of all I have to tell you interesting for me about Kolkata))) Same new facts about Kolkata and India in whole...
1 - There are very funny taxi drivers))) even I can say this people are the most crazy guys in the world here))) they horn all the time, never give you way, there are so many of them, that is why there are so many traffic jams) and they always don't know where to go, even if give them address you can't be sure that you will go in write direction))) sometimes they hardly speak English... ohhh, it is difficult. but ... haha it is very funny)) it is part of the city))) there are a lot of them))))
2 - there is no road regulations at all. or it seems to me that it is))) but in comparison to Russian regulations there is no) may be I don't understand something))) but it is funny also)) foreigners like me should be very careful on the road)
3 - there is so spicy food, sometimes it is not possible to eat))) But can be very tasty, especially vegetarian one)) I tried some of them, and all of them wasn't very spicy. I tried Masala Dosa and one more, I don't remember the name exactly, I'll write later.))
I tried so many sweets, I like them very much, hope I will not be addicted)))
4 - Kolkata is very famous for 4 things, as I was told recently))
First is football and cricket.
Second is sweets and fish dishes. I am gonna try fish soon.
Third is books. There are a lot of book shops. They are very attractive for me.
Fourth is music.
So will see))) I tried only sweets and saw people playing cricket and football. It was so nice))) I will show you some photos of it)) people are so friendly that all of them asked me to join them))) It is very nice)))
5 - People are so friendly, have so big interest to the tourist. There are some tourist. But I saw not so many now, may be because of the season, I don't know. But I was told that there usually a lot of tourist. But anyway it is so nice that people around you do care and very hospital and friendly))) It is great pleasure to meet such people.))))
Yesterday one guy asked me to give him a autograph on his hand))) I was so surprised at it))) haha why? yes, because of I am a tourist and they are very, extremely friendly)))
6 - It very strictly here, tourist should be wearied in right way, otherwise someone can come to you and even reprove!!! yeap, if I wear not long skirt or have t-shirt with open shoulder I feel others glances... may be it not because of the way I wear, but because of I am a foreigner, or white skinned, I don't know... but sometimes I feel very shy and dream to come home to change)))
7 - it is hot here, but not like I thought it can be...))) it is just very wet air that is why so hot) my hears... oh God, they gonna get crazy soon, so much mess on my head)))) for it is so hot, so I can't just leave them on my shoulders, they are to long for such hot weather)))
it is so hot even at night, but it is seems to me that I is getting used)))
8 - I got used to the place to fast))) I learned some movements by the way of saying yes and no))) it is special one)))
and I have new habit to say like Indian people - "ok,ok"))) twice all the time))) haha I gonna become Indian))) I expected it, but not so soon)))
9 - there are so many beautiful shops there))) I like more markets))) there are so many unique accessories and clothes, they are so nice and beautiful)))) I want all of them))) I like Indian style))) it is very attractive, very stylish)))
10 - Kolkata can be very different. There are so many rich and very poor buildings very close to each other and the same is with people. There are alot poor and rich people and they are all the time near to each other.
11 - As I was told and I can see by myself Kolkata is very rich country by the culture. It is so!! There are so many beautiful buildings in the city, very huge city museum called "Indian museum". The most I like it is that there are a lot of parks))) very beautiful bridges))
one of them we visited yesterday, but it was to dark that is why it better to visit it during the day, when it isn't dark.
12 - oh, yes, the thing with that I was so surprise at first days - it gets dark so early)))) approximate at 18.30 - it is so dark like at night)) funny, hah?))
13 - rickshaws))) there are a lot of rickshaws, different kind of them: velo-rickshaws, moto-rickshaws and rickshaws that take trolley by their hands.
I tried only velo-rickshaws, it was fast)) I liked it))) it costed me 40 Rupees (approximate 94 Cents).
But I will never try rickshaws that take trolley by their hands so called hand-rickshaws, cause it is so hard work, I just cant see it, it is cruel thing...
but all rickshaws are so thin, so it is very hard work((
